The essence of logic according to Thomas Aquinas

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to consider the nature of logic as it was exposed in Thomas Aquinas. In fact, this article should be understood as intended to answer a certain question about the essence of the thing, that is, what would be, after all, the logic. The To-masian definition of thing includes several concepts that must be studied, one by one, so that their explanation becomes intelligible, strictly. Thus, a study that thematizes the notions of "art" (ars) and "science" (scientia) should be carried out with this objective. In addition, other distinctive notes of the concept of logic will also be considered, such as that it is an inventive art, so that, after all, its nature is clarified. Since the topics addressed have a very strong interrelation, it is essential to treat them so that the final objective of this article can be real-ized, as it should.
