Who We Are

O Agora Perene Institute (IAP) is a cultural institute founded in 2021 and based in Rio de Janeiro. IAP's mission and values are to fill important gaps in the field of classical and traditional philosophy and culture in Brazil:

Think Tank

Promote analysis, reflection and debate on national and international problems and issues from a classical and traditional philosophical perspective, through:

  • Production of articles, essays, critical reviews and unpublished studies
  • Organization of online interviews, panel discussions and podcasts

Education

To promote and disseminate classical and traditional studies in society in general, through:

  • Production of digital content (lectures, conferences, courses and video lessons)
  • Translation of unpublished classical texts

.

The IAP is a private non-profit association and is: i) interdisciplinary; ii) non-partisan and iii) independent.

  • InterdisciplinaryThis is because it does not privilege a single field of knowledge to the detriment of others, prioritizing the free exchange and mutual enrichment of different areas.
  • Non-partisanbecause its focus is not the promotion of a particular political/religious organization.
  • IndependentThis is because it adopts a self-sustaining financial model, without resorting to sponsorship from organizations, whether public or private.
